Not only that, unless you line it with something, then I would have to assume that the wood would eventually weaken, due to the water. I don't think pre-treated wood would help, since the chemicals may leach into the water.
The only possible way is if it were a large, hollowed out tree.

If you mean the Python No-Spill, then I do use it also. They're great. I used to use the regular gravel vacs, but it was too tedious. I later purchased those battery operated vacs, but it clogged to easy and fast and would cloud the tank. One visit at my LFS, I saw him using the Python No-spill and ...

Here's an idea I provided on another forum, to reuse your tank water...
1. Run your waste water from the tank, through a regular canister or wet/dry filter. The return line will go through a UV sterilizer to kill any bacteria/parasites. This water will then be pumped to storage container A.

Do you know what type of algae? There are different types, with each usually being caused by a certain type of excess nutrient and/or lighting.
I like to use these 2 links for references on algae...

If you have another tank, just fill about half the tank with water with a heater and also an airstone. Then when you do water changes, put some of the water from the current tank into the new tank. After about a week or so, move the filter, decor, and fish into the new tank. Remove the substrate ...

The UV is supposed to be connected on the output flow of the filter. Make sure you buy the correct UV to match your filter flow for the best dwell time (length of time the water makes contact with the UV light). For example, do not buy a 9 watt UV filter, which you plan to connect on a Eheim Pro II ...

Sorry to hear about the loss. I use Tap water conditioner, Stress Coat, and Prime and never had a problem with any of them. I normally use whatever bottle is closest to me at the time. I primarily use API tap water conditioner or stress coat in my tank for aging water, which is used for WC in my ...

L-333?
This was labeled an L-333 pleco a few years ago, but I still have doubts. The fish is about 4" - 5" or so.

I did a google search and all I found is that it kills snails and not eggs. Again, keep an eye. I have a feeling they will come back becuase of the eggs. If there are still no fish in the tank, I would dose with Potassium Permangate. This WILL kill snails and eggs and is harmless to plants. In fact ...

Also try reducing the amount of light per day. It will not kill the ich, but help reduce the stress of the fish. Ich is like a common cold to humans, so we need a clean environment and plenty of rest. The raised temp and salts should help, so just let the fish rest more to fight it off.
