Thanks for that!
Yes, I've read the info about sexing eupterus - but I could never really get my head around it! Someone on this forum set me straight, and I guess it's practice too, the more I look at the better I get at sexing them. The info in the cat-e-log didn't have anything on sexing ...

Synodontis brichardi - sexing
Hi everyone,
are Synodontis brichardi sexed in the much the same way as other Synos, such as eupterus or ocellifer? I haven't really had any trouble sexing eupterus, ocellifer angelicus. If anyone has any tips, I'd appreciate them!
Cheers,
Collingwood

Is phosphate a problem for Synos?
I've been using Seachem Neutral Regulator on my Syno tanks recently (flavitaeniatus, angelicus, decorus occellifer and eupterus - not all in the same tank!!) and noticed that it uses phosphate buffers. Is this OK for Synos? I know people who test for phosphate and aim to keep it down in their tanks ...

re: feeding advice
Thank you! You've been really helpful. I've removed the bristlenose fry and I'm feeding baby brine shrimp and a few chopped bloodworms. I'll keep them in there current tank for now unless they really don't seem to be finding the food.
Cheers,
Collingwood

Hemiloricaria L010a - feeding advice
Hi,
I obtained a group of young ones of these 5 days ago and wanted some advice on feeding them. They're in a tank with some 2cm bristlenose fry and the whiptails themselves are about 3-4cm. They cling to the vertical glass and to the filters and filterwool and suck on this. They won't come down to ...

Which Gold Nugget is this?
Hi everyone,
here's a few pics of the same gold nugget - could anyone be able to tell me which L number he is? He's about 6-8cm or so.
Thanks,
Collingwood

Help with ID of Syno - is it a hybrid?
Hi everyone,
I have 3 of these, have had them for about 3 years. They were labelled as S. decorus when they were bought as tiny juveniles - pretty obvious that's not what they are! The pics are of the largest dominant one, the others are about the same but with a few more dots (they are too shy to ...

re:angelicus
Wow! Thanks for the quick reply!
How large are they? Could be that yours are too small to sex reliably.
They are about 20cm, and several years old. So if I can't sex them at this size I 've got problems!!
Basically, yes. Boys have what is technically known as a "thingy", girls don't.
Thanks ...

angelicus questions
Hi everyone,
could anyone give me some simple pointers as to sexing angelicus? I have read the cat-e-log info, but I'm still confused......although I think part of the trouble is that it would appear mine are all the same sex, it's always easier to vent-sex things if you have male and female to ...
