Not a breeder, but thinking creatively- could you add on a sump tank to this tank? With more water volume you may have better water quality, and if any fry end up in the sump it’s easier to catch them and transfer to a grow out tank.

Mine likes blanched zuchinni. Maybe try rubbing the zuchinni with cut garlic (which acts like an appetite stimulant). Or try Thera+ New Life Spectrum (which has garlic).

Can you tell us more about your artificial background outside of the tank? Did you make it?

Maybe feeding plecos with food rich in beta carotene may be more effective to bring out the reds.

I think I remember seeing plecos kept in outdoor tanks ( L14?) kept in the tropics, and they did seem richer in color. Maybe it was the sunlight, or maybe something else.
