I have a group of 5 wild caught Syno multis. I am asking $125 for the group.
They range from approximately 3.5" to 4.5".
I'm tearing down all my tanks and setting up a SA planted tank. I just need to sell these multis to be able to get rid of my 55g and make room for my new 90g rimless.
I prefer ...

Re: Safe to ship catfish in breather bags?
Thanks for the responses everyone.
Apistomaster, when you double bag do you put anything in between the bags? On the kordon website they recommend putting moist paper towel between the bags when double bagging. They don't explain why though.

Safe to ship catfish in breather bags?
I have some syno multipunctatus I'm trying to sell locally. I would like to be able to offer shipping to be able to sell them nationally and increase my chances of finding a buyer, but I don't like shipping with regular bags because of how much space they take up. Would it be safe to ship them in ...

I am getting more into planted SA tanks now so unfortunately I can't keep these guys. The group is 5 4"+ WC multis which were originally purchased from Dave Schumacher.

I do not ship, so pick up only.

Re: Central American catfish advice needed
Are you sure your not thinking of managuense, which can easily reach 16"? Motaguense don't usually get over 12". A single can easily be kept in a 75g tank(48" x 19" x 22"H). Even a pair could be kept in a 75g if you get lucky with aggression, as the females generally don't reach over 10".

Central American catfish advice needed
Hey all,
Could anyone recommend a rough and tumble catfish that would be ok in a 75g with a parachromis motaguense?
I'm trying to put together a Honduran biotope, but I'm not going to be that strict about it. So anything from central America will be fine. Although if I could find a species from ...

I wasn't sure where to post this, figured this was as good a place as any.

Yeah, I've heard that riccia can be a pain, but when it works it looks amazing. I am most likely going with the HC since this is my first try at a heavily planted tank. I will be using CO2, so no problems there.

How exactly do you use a saucer to make a cave? do you just lean it agains a rock or what?
I don't want anything unatural visible in my tank, so I'm trying to figure out how I could do this without it being noticeable.

I'm planning on 5 for my tank. I'm going to add a breeding group of Aul. jacobfreibergi to the tank as well, but not until my saulosi get a little bit bigger and I can get their ratio to 2m:8f. I figure the peacocks will be more likely to hold multi broods successfully.

Unfortunately I don't have pics because I'm buying online. But the ones labeled "burundi" are from a supplier which I know to be very reputable. Their multis are a little more expensive but I will pay the extra amount for peace of mind.
Thanks for the help!

I was asking because I was trying to compare a group of wild caught synodontis multipunctatus with a group of synodontis multipuctatus "burundi" to decide which to buy.

I don't plan on mixing variants, I'm just curious why someone might brag that their multi is a burundi. I found that post in my searches and it only added to my questioning.
Is there one variant that is prefered over others?
