Re: Looking for advice for Pleco stock, looking for small species of Pleco.
I agree. I always shy away from these Gold Nuggets and other Baryancistrus as they are known to be very difficult to keep in the hobby. Why not add one more Mustard Spot, since you already have one? Together with the Bristlenose, you can feed them a steady diet of plant-based food. Just a suggestion ...

Re: Do P. maccus pectoral rays turn red?
I've seen this on my L104s before. Yes, nothing serious. Redness usually last a couple of days, once the fight for caves or spots end.
Large females do occupy caves even if they are not about to spawn. Furthermore, they can become very aggressive and evict smaller males from their hiding spots.

Re: Ich recommendations
Had great success with Quick Cure. But timing is key. Best when applied on the first sight of spots. Pretty useless when spots are pretty much all over the fish and lethargic behaviour is observed.

Sick. Perhaps too much protein consumption. They are better off with vegetables (squash/zuchini) and less protein tabs such as algae wafers.

I agree, one female and two males. Head shape alone is not enough. Body shape (girth) and odontal growth should also be considered.

Re: Best BLACK sand for cory
I'd be careful with using black sand in cory tanks for a long period of time. Yes, they are pleasant to look at but these are really unnatural for the cories. Run your fingers through a bucket of these black sand and you'll notice that these aren't real sand.

Stress perhaps, due to lack of wood from previous seller or disease caused by parasites. Some sellers tend to keep their livestock in inappropriate settings with the least available care possible. Are the eyes and bully sunken?

Agree, the biggest one in the second pic is male. The rest are not yet fully mature but I can see potential females based on body shape and odontode growth. These are slow growers IME. Good luck!

Re: L201 or something else ?
Yes, all of them are Hypans. The first batch are 201s IME. The others with the bigger spots look H. Contradens. Then again, photos were taken during stressful conditions, which could somehow make identification more challenging. Nevertheless, they all look very good!

Based on the shape of the mouth from the first photo, Leporacanthicus indeed. Zero chance to be a Scobinancistrus or Hypancistrus. L007 perhaps, but need better photos to be sure.

Re: L014 as algae eater?
They are omnivores and will try a lot of different foods. But I haven't seen them scrape algae off the glass like my L001. Perhaps you'd like to try an L001, a P. Pardalis, or one of those beautiful Hypostomus.

Re: Introducing an adult L014 to an existing catfish populat
Introducing a bigger L014 to a smaller one seems illogical in my opinion. From experience, I have learned that these beautiful and often popular fish are capable of being aggressive and territorial towards their own specie. Moreover, they grow pretty quick because they are voracious eaters! They ...

Re: Bristlenose help *still unidentified*
With the vast number of Ancistrus species, it would be difficult to determine based on the angle of those shots. Best to catch it, measure it, and take close up photos from the top.

Re: JUMPY'S Unknown Pleco
Hard to tell based on the angle of those shots. You need to catch it and take a close up photo from the top. You can also wait for a year or so and see if there's significant odontodes.
