Hi Gert,
Damn, I had the hope of the export of a Neoplecostominae species.
Otherwise I think there is unfortunately no Neoplecostominae species permitted for export in Brazil. Is there any (fish) species with a southern brazilian distribution permitted for export? I don't think so. :YMTONGUE:

Hi,
There are some undescribed Pseudohemiodon species comming from Peru (not only sp. I and sp. II).
But they all have nearly the same type of habitat in common.
You can find them at the sandy shelves of white water streams around Iquitos.
BTW: Rio Itaya isn't a clearwater stream at all.

Hi Niels,
The largest adolescent fry is about 8,5cm.
It is an offspring from august/september.
In some few weeks I will put them to the adults and hope for a female.

First, the colour pattern. There is a distinctive dark body crossing band at the dorsal fin at "Peru II" (badly visible at the pictures here). In general the colour pattern of "Peru I" differs to the colour pattern of Peru "II". "Peru II" often shows a dark net whereas "Peru I" just ...

Hi Cathy,
Do you have to possibility to separate the fry after hatching for example in a nursery or raising tank?
It would be a pity if the fry would be food for Crenicichla & Co.

Whats about the predators? Do you remove them from the tank or do you separate the guarding male carefully?

Re: how cold is too cold for Chaetostoma
Hi,
It depends on the species of Chaetostoma.
For species of the lower land (which are most common in trade) this temperature would be too cold.
In the opposite this temperature would be fine for the species of the mountain streams.

Hi,
I agree with Rupert, it could be H. eigenmanni
95% of the Hemiloricaria in the trade is this species
This is a point I don't agree. Eventually it depends on the country, but H. eigenmanni isn't very common in the trade in germany. More often you'll find some undescribed species.

Hi Cathy,
Next to FB, also here a Congratulation with crossed fingers!
It seems the flat stone with the eggs is directly streamed with a high oxygenic water current, isn't it?
This would match with all other breedings of Spatuloricaria I heared.
