Not sure why put my angels and loricards have always hated each other. Loricards eat angel eggs, angels bother the loricards non-stop usually hovering overhead, shaking their heads and clicking and picking at the loricard untill it goes bonkers and attacks. Not sure if these species encounter each ...

might be worth getting yourself at least a ph test kit, get the LPS to test your water if you cannot afford gh/kh, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate test kits as knowing your water perameters is very important when trying to breed fish. BN's like a low-neautral (6.5-7 ph) water when breeding, bogwood to ...

Lots of info on here about spawning and the behavior of these fish while spawning. sometimes a first spawn may need to be triggered. Do a search and see what you come up with. thankyou, the info has helped a great deal.

if anyone else is interested in the topic then there is an article on a 'guppy biotype' that contains a list of possible plant species to be included.

Trinidad biotype tank

I was wondering if anyone would have any info on creating a trinidad biotype tank or know of suitable species of flora and fauna that could be used. There are several of us searching for info on mainly the slow stream habitats that are favoured by native livebearers. The only catfish we have come up ...

from a lot of experience and anecdotal evidence keeping goldfish and tropicals always ends in disaster. it can be done but you need 25 gal for the first goldie+ 10 gal for each other goldie added. on top of this you must then add 1 gal per inch of bodylength for the full growth size of other species ...

1st problem will be that the goldfish are coldwater the bristlenose ancistrus is tropical. (best temps approx 75-77f)they need a heated tank.

it is not reccomended you keep these two together, because the temp difference needed by these species will shorten the life-span of one or kill other ...

here in Tas, Australia, albino BNP's are rare as hens teeth. you may get someone import one especially for $35-$45 each but that is rare, these only being 1.5". I have seen adult albinos auctioned off at $240 for a pair. Normal ones sell at $10-$20 and are seasonal. I think this is mainly due to our ...

I have recently purchased two fish I believe to be L052. All has gone well with acclimatising, they both began eating right away, although one is a little skinnier than I would like. They are both in a 60 gal tank, heavily planted, containing a lot of driftwood and large rocks. Both seem quite ...

Without water parameters, tank maintenance info any answer will probably be guesswork.

My first thought would be that adding a fish (I am guessing a 'common pleco') to a tank that is too small for its eventual 26-30 inches is making short work of it and killing it.
