Re: LDA33 suddenly died

I am wondering if the fish was stressed to start with. the tank seems crowded and if you did the water change, that could have set it over the top

too crowded in the 5footer???

like I said, they'd been in a smaller tank prior to that, with the 50%water changes.

and they had been quite active ...

Re: LDA33 suddenly died

Baryancistrus do seem to be very sensitive fish. I have only keep the large spotted Gold Nuggets but they were to the most deilicate of plecos I have kept. However, I have never had a problem during water changes. I use Prime which I add in slightly more than the recommended dose to the residual ...

Re: LDA33 suddenly died

I use Seachem safe, and always slightly overdo the dosage (1.2dose, but this is safe to use up to 5* dose, which would be for ammonia/nitrite detoxification) so shouldn't be a problem with chlorine.

also did the water change yesterday night, and at least 1 of them was perfectly fine then, and this ...

LDA33 suddenly died

as the title said, just lost my 2 LDA33 at the same time, with no reasons.

I had 2 LDA33 in a tank with 4 L213(possibly, identified on here a while back) 12 Geophagus Tapajos OH and 4 Mesonauta festivus (also Tapajos) their in a 5by18by22" tank, recently moved (2weeks ago) (all the fish that is ...

I'm not importing them, and hes not getting boxes in specifically for me. I get an email from him for the upcoming orders. (as a previous customer I'm on the mailing list)

he's previously brought in stuff from Colombia as well as orders from Jeff Rapps and Don Conkel (though those were mostly ...

have the laws regarding export of L46 been changed??

reason I ask is Jeff Rapps has "wild caught" L46 in.

Hypancistus zebra 2” $275.00 L 46 – yes, the ultimate small Hyp. species-wild ‘Imperial Zebra’ plecos!

I've not heard anything on those export laws being changed, and nothing came up via google. But then I ...

Re: British c*****d Association Spring Convention 2009

nothing as of yet.

CSG is going to be there, (as they were last year) TA Aquaculture will have a stall there, and there will be plenty of books available (some great deals on some of the corydoras books at the moment.)

hopefully nearer the time there will also be an auction list put up to show ...

just a thought, what are these like in hard alkaline water??

just considering them as tankmates for my Zoogoneticus quitzeoensis. I was going to leep them in with firemouths, however from what I've just read in the PFK magazine that although they can tollerate 24c(75f), they prefer 16-18c(61-65f)in ...

I do plan to replace them with C. Sterbai. though currently debating whether to get them ...

Corydoras paleatus, lifespan

what is the average lifespan for a peppered cory.

I've got 2 that are about 5 years old, and their starting to look old, and pretending their dead, (lying motionless on the floor at funny angles (including upside down)) before bustling off in another direction.

now I know them temps aren't great ...

I bought these as L183's however given they only have 8 dorsal spines its obvious their not.

theres 2 terracotta pots in there, as well as the pebbles in the photo.

my only concern is 2 of these fish are showwing a huge amount of bristles compared to the profile shots. i'f estimate the 1s on the 6-7cm fish to be about 5-6mm long.

will try and get a good profile pic to show what i mean ...
