They were sold as ABN. They came in on the same order at the LFS. Thats pretty much all I know. Is there a way to find out what they are?

Maybe I am not understanding something. The fry you had. What was wrong with them and why did you euthanize them?

Feeding Ancistrus Fry

I have wigglers that hatched 48 hours ago. They don't look anywhere near ready to eat but I want to be ready when they are. Can I feed them frozen squash and algae disks? Should I grind the algae disk first?
I also have a piece of driftwood in the fry tank. What else can I try? This is my first ...

At Last Ancistrus eggs

My albino Ancistrus have finally spawned. I think it has been 3 days. I have moved the PVC pipe with the eggs to a 10 gal. There is a mature sponge filter and an air stone near the opening of the pipe to keep water flowing through the pipe. I hope they survive and I cant wait for them to hatch.

Female Died

Bummer, 4 days after adding 2 1-1/4 PVC pipes with end caps my female curled up in one and died. I don't know if the male trapped her in there and killed her? Well now I am searching for another female.
Thanks

Hi Mats,
I think I will replcase the 4 inch endcap with 2, 1-1/4" pipes with endcaps and see what happens. I hope the pipes stay cleaner than the endcaps. Do you have to clean them out often?
Thanks

These fish have not spawned yet and I was wondering does it disturb them to much to clean inside their cave every WC? If I don't remove and clean every couple of days it builds up lots of toxic wast underneath. Is this normal? I am surprised at how much wast these fish produce.
Thanks

Spawning trigger for albino ancistrus?

Hi Everyone,
I have a pair of albino ancistrus in a 10 gal tank with a sponge filter. I change 3 gal every other day. They eat spirulina disks and zucchini. My water is 78F PH 7.8 and GH KH is 12. They have a 4 inch PVC endcap for a cave. Is there something I can do to get them to spawn or should I ...

Spawning Caves for albino ancistrus

Hi Everyone,
I have read people use clay pots to spawn bristlenose plecos. What size pots are best? Can pvc pipe be used and what would be the best size?
I am new to spawning plecos and I want to try the Albino Bristlenose. I have heard they are easy.
Thanks

the past 3 days I have found 12 eggs a day in the mops. I have been floating the eggs in a 1 quart jar with an airstone in a 10 gal tank until they hatch. Then I relese them into the tank. I replace 75% of the water in the jar daily. It looks to me that some of them die in the next 2 days ...

I have a million questions about panda cory's. How do you raise the young? I have been hatching them in a jar and then dumping them in 10 gal tank. I have been feeding them newly hatched brine shrimp. Near as I can tell only 50 to 75% of them survive after hatching. I would like to have more of them ...

Panda Cory spawn

Hi everyone,
Is it normal for Panda Cory's to lay only 25 eggs? these are young fish and its their first spawn. It seems like they lay about 5 eggs a day. Maybe they are eating them? The largest batch I have found is 22.
Thanks

Hi Folks,
This is how I culture microworms. I use a disposable tupperware like food container.
Fill the bottom with about 1/2 inch corn meal.
add water until pasty.
add 1/4 tsp of active yeast.
inoculat.
whn they start crawling up the side I scape them off and feed the fish.
Thanks

Hi Everyone,
Are there different sizes of micrworms? My newborn Albino cory's starve to death when I feed them microworms. I have to use newly hatched brine shrimp. When they get about 3 weeks old they start eating microworms.
