I noticed a picture in the Trachycorytstes Trachycorystes (aka The Grokefish) showing two aparently mating.
Does anyone know more about this?

I have just been too busy with my dogs atm. I had basically let the tank just run itself for unknown amount of time which I spose must have led to the demise of the parancistrus. I am going to see the the tank when the dude has finished setting it up, I'll see if he took any ...

I just sold my last fishtank. I had been scaling back for about the last 4 years and I was down to only a 4ft(L)x2ft(W)x18"(H) tank with an FX 5 filter and minimum lighting.

Anyway the tank only contained Parancistrus Aurantiacus for about a year, maybe two, I lost count and they died so I thought ...

I put RO water in to top it up.

I agree with the balanced eco system discussion. I also agree it is probably a case of low bio load and some nutrient uptake by algae and moss. I still have no idea what the fish are actually eating.
I will see how long it takes for the bad stuff to start occurring ...

The tank is 4ft long 2ft wide by 18 inches tall.
It has an FX5 filter with the outlet going through a drilling in the right hand side, loads of flow which has never slowed down.
There are two parancistrus in there and a red eyed tetra the parancistrus are about 4 inches long.
I bung food in now and ...

I havn't cleaned the filter in probably 5 years.

Oh yeah forgot that bit, havn't changed the water in about a year

No idea if it is a sexed group, I wouldn't be able to tell at this size and the dude in the shop could hardly identify them as fish not chips.
