Local aquarium fish contacts in Central & South America?
Local aquarium fish contacts in Central & South America?
Hi, I'm an aquarium enthusiast from Belgium, but job wise spending quite some time in Central and South America (Mexico, Panama, Ecuador, ...). I'd really like to spend my free time over there looking into the local waters, but things would be a lot easier if I had some local fish lovers to contact who could help me finding nice locations.
So if there's anyone who's willing to share this info, I'd be very happy to hear about it. Thanks already!

Assuming uruguay is too far off (http://www.aqvaterra.com/ just in case) I can not provide you with any further information.
However, on the cichlid room companion (http://www.cichlidae.com/forum/index.php ) a few people from Mexico are active, a Brasilian too (from Manaus) and the owner, Juan Miguel Artigas Azaz is from Mexico
I'd suggest posting there as well

Bedankt Bas! The Aqvaterra site is nice with interesting links. I'll also try to post something on the Cichlidae forum.Bas Pels wrote:Hi Wasp

Ward,
I can put you in touch with people in Colombia and Venezuela. Juan Mi is in Mexico, but he lives up north (San Luis Potosi if I remember correctly).

Shane, that would be nice. Most of my Mexico travelling is in the Northwestern states of Sinaloa and Sonora. Wonder if Juan Mi can tell me something about the possibilities there. Just made some contacts here in Panama who may organize some trips in the future.Shane wrote:Ward,
