The new side on photo since my post this morning looks far more familar, now it is clear to see the black patch in each caudal lobe, the photo from yesterday looked more like a black band. :)
Dreaming of a full-on 5x2x2 Zaire River rapids biotope...

They are out and about more than I was expecting. Really mad I didn't get these sooner.

They are a super fish. I will keep them again I am sure. IME they are clearly sexable within a year...

Around what size should they be at a year? Right now they seem tiny to me ( say 1 1/4" length if lucky TL). I see they are 2" SL as an adult size, so I would assume mine to still be young?

They can get to 2" SL or thereabouts in a year.

i will have pictures of the current set up (14 gallon biocube as the big tank would be too big and lose the fish in) and hopefully a video of my favorite little guys.

and these guys gave me the Synobug.. ugh.. working on doing s.lucipinnis next.

BTW regarding the sp 1's, are their any visual differences on the sexes, or is it just when a female is gravid you know?
