Interesting andywoolloo, Syno-kev is desperate for one of these but alas he's in the UK :(

Are they genuine as i always thought petsmart was not a specialist shop & it seems surprising as these are so unusual

I would be interested in seeing a photo, if possible--to try and see if they're the real thing or hybrids.

Syno kev, thats right , I knew someone had mentioned them.

I thought it was unusual also, but that's where I got my eupteruses...altho those are not uncommon. I will go back and take pics on my days off. They had a tank full.

They are a hybrid, I think- eupterus X ocellifer. Don't look like the real thing at all, and their tag says they grow to 7 or 8 inches!!!!

I think that's the sort of thing we suspected!

Shame..............................

the tag i saw on mine was 24 inches i think. Maybe diff syno at my store. I' m not saying it isnt a hybrid, I'm just saying at least they got the length right. I think it said 18" or 24"/ I will go back.

The longirostris I've seen at Petsmart in the past were all hybrids.

If at all possible, a photo will determine the ID, i really think they'll be hybrids but i'd love to be wrong! Then again they're too far away if they're genuine..... :(
