The first I haven't got a clue (I'm not very good with ID'in Corys - there are far too many that look almost the same, especially in the "looks like arcuatus but not really).
The second I'm pretty sure is
- I have some of those, so I know better what they look like, and I'm pretty sure there are none that are similar enough to be confusing.

I'm inclined to say similis, but I'm not certain no similar (no pun intended) species exist (and I think C similis might be intended to express the spiecies is similar to another Cory

)

Bas,
You are of course right on both accounts: There is one other cory,
, that is similar. It has a pointy snout rather than the round snout. The pictures show a rounded snout, so that's sorted then.
Looking at Ian Fuller's and H.G. Evers Identifying Corydoradinae Catfish, I'd say C. rabauti, but the book says they are difficult to tell apart, so I wouldn't bet a months salary on it.
Edit: As is typical for when you type too slow to keep up with your thinking (which possibly indicates that I need to type faster, or think slower!), I didn't explain my ID conclusion. The above book says that C. zygatus is a more slender version of C. rabauti. As your fish doesn't look partiuclarly slender, I will go with C. rabauti.

after doing some intensive reading about both the rabauti and the zygatus, i still am not sure. im actually more inclined to think zygatus. mine dont have an extra stripe under the tan bar that extends to the tail and there were larger ones that i didnt get. also, the stripe on mine has the green irridescence. *sigh*
does anyone know if the rabautis have the irridenscence as well and is it more muted?

The first one in my opinion is C. zygatus the tel tail signs are that there is a break in the stripe just below the dorsal spine, the stripe have a metalic sheen to is and the stripe stops at the caudal peduncle.
The other fish is C. similis this species has a variable blue/black caudal peduncle blotch. There are six other species that have a large blotch on the caudal peduncle: -
C. caudimaculatus
C. aurostigma
C. guapore
C. spectabilis
C. hastatus
C. sp C66

With C. rabauti the dark band has a mat appearance, without any sheen.

Nice fish!
I would change the substrate you keep them on to sand. Cory's like sand very much and that mix of big rounded en pointy gravel isn't a very good substrate if you want them to stay healty and have nice long barbels.
