Ive looked very hard into breeding them since the guy i got them off had them spawning in his tank but all the eggs
were getting eaten. Has anyone had success with breeding these? i know of a lot of method's. one of the best would be
a desert bowl with a flower pot tapped upside down to it to form a cylinder type object and holes cut in the pot, in
a tank with nothing else but tht then the male and female swin round and round when spawning fertilize the eggs with
whirl-pool action etc etc apparently the % was quite good. any other ideas or story's of success would be good reading!

AFAIK njassae hasn't been successfully bred by hobbyists, & we don't know if it is a scatterer.

The flowerpot method used for lucipinnis works well as they are cave spawners & njassae are a bigger fish so if you wanted to this out the hardware needs to be appropriately sized. Another alternative would be to condition a male & female separately from each other & bring them together in a dedicated spawning tank for a breeding attempt - this is how petricola & granulosa have been bred commercially. If a hobbyist wanted to do this, the base of the tank could be covered with a mesh allowing eggs to fall through if they are scatterers. Perhaps also spawning cichlids or other fish might help to trigger the catfish
