I'd say on account of irregular shape & size spots.

Thanks ,

The guy i bought them from says they are wild so what would you expect to pay for them ?

In a shop, I'd expect the label to say somewhere between £30-70 for "large" ones. A local Maidenhead Aquatics has small ones, captive bred, at around £20. But also fully mature S. petricola - mixed with at least one other species, I think it may have been S. lucipinnis, but my memory for fish that I don't want [1] is poor.

[1] "want" here means "don't have a tank that would be OK to keep them in" rather than "don't like".

For good sized wild petricola i'd expect to see them offered for sale at a lfs for between £30- £70

For wild Lucipinnis less, maybe £20-£45

I've bought tank bred Lucipinnis for £4 from a breeder, it all depends where you go & who you know. Prices do vary a hell of a lot though :(

These are UK prices based on fish seen within the last 12 months
