How long do they take to grow to there full size? Ive had 3 about a year now there about 6cm including tail and seem to have stopped growing. Do they just slow down growing at this size until they get to 10cm like the cat alog says or do some stay smaller? They have always been in a 30G tank since ive had them so there not stunted or anything

6 cm is about regular for most...you may get a bit more growth, it is the older dominant females which will get larger when compared to the others, but it does seem to take some time. I think a 10 cm S.nigriventris would be a very large one.
What do you keep yours with?

Thanks
There is one that a little bigger but i mean MM bigger. Its got alot less markings aswell. Does it sound like that could be a female then?
Ive got mine with corys, BNs a banjo, tetras, rasbora and hatchets. The tank is a bit over stocked but there just in there for now until i can sell off the tetra, rasbora and hatchets. The upside down catfish will be going into a 150G tank with some cichlids but they will get moved ones the cichlids get big ans start to see them as snack size.

I once had a large female that seemed almost all white, they do fade out some, there are the usual syno differences but being small definitely harder to pick out, the most obvious being as they get older the females will look bigger and plumper and will dominate for choice hidey holes.

What kind of cichlids, you make them sound like they will get big? For these cats I like the choices you have them with now, they are really peaceful except for the little squabbles they have with each other. Many cichlids will dominate when it comes to feeding time, you know the usual frenzy to eat as much as possible before the others do, and these synos sometimes take a bit of time to get going when fed.

The would be going in with red head tapajo geos and rotkeil severums so nothing to big or agressive but like i said once the cichlid get big they will have to go or they might get eaten. I would love to keep them in the tank there in but the only way i can get my mum to agree to letting my get the 150G is if i get rid of my other tanks so ive got no where to put them.

Thinking about it the bigger lighter one does seen to hide where ever she wants and will push the others out of places. The other 2 both have there spots and there always there unless the bigger one pushes them out.

I've had mine for a year now. He/she is about 3", i.e., about 7.5 cm TL. That fish has not grown even a iota in 1/2 year. He/she has been in 120 US gal. I think that's all I will get out of him. The fish is getting plumper though. You can see three photos here: pics 12, 13, 14 from the top -

Hmm, I got mine at the same time and they are all just a little bit bigger than they were except one; she grew so fast I mistook her for the L401! I'll have to throw in a ruler just to check.
Unless of course I got stuck with a hybrid

Okay, I'll have to get some pics just to be sure. Is anyone making hybrids of these?

I myself have not seen any nigriventris hybrids...a lot of places will call any syno "Upside down Catfish" so if you have one you are questioning take a pic.
