Bristlenose extremely agressive behaviour issue.

Two days ago I introduced a male bristlenose to a tank containing a female bristlenose and a male leopard pleco. The male bristlenose has immediately adopted an artificial hollow log as his place and partially excavated under it. Since this morning he has been extremely aggressive in guarding this part of the tank, particularly from the female pleco.
They can't have spawned that quickly, surely? Is this normal behaviour?

Want bet? My male and female when combined in the same tank spawned in less than 12 hours. To be fair they had done it before but they found a new spawn spot very quickly.
check the female if her tummy looks sunken she has probably just spawned only lasts a couple of days but they can be extremely quick.

Thanks for the advice - we shall check the female's tummy when we get the chance, we have a tank on standby just in case to move the other occupants of the tank to to leave the male a clear environment.
