Hello everyone,

I wanted to ask for help with sexing my Hypancistrus contradens. They are around 12cm each. By body shape I would think about all female, but by looking at their fins they look like all males. Maybe someone can help me :)

Greetings,
Tobi

Based on pectoral spines, I think those are all fat males. (those meaning the plecos, not the shrimp or the MTS, :)) )

I see this in my big spot, but I've never kept the bulkier typical . Maybe the females are more hairy? Not likely.

Cheers, Eric

I agree with Eric. Look at the shape of the nose; it has that pentagon shape. Females come to a point like a triangle.
