Hi pseudasmart, do you have a photo of the L375. I'm curious on how do they look like and how different are they from L160.PseudaSmart wrote:My Pair of L160s (do not know collection location) maxed out at 9” and 9.5”
L375s are from the Rio Anapu. A friend’s pair I used for DNA testing maxed out at 12” and 14”.

Hi borbi,
How are the Barrae different from this LDA97?
We always believed that barrae are yellowish in coloration and they tend to turn dull in a confined dark environment. This is always very disappointing to observed by most hobbyist here.Their strong yellowish (golden) coloration is how we ...

Hi all, Im not sure if i am correct. We Asians especially categories them into four different species: L113, L234, M.cf barrae and "Azzura" - a termed by the Japs that refer to a black spiny M. species.

Re: What is my Pseudacanthicus ?
I think that it has a resemblance of a variant of spinosus, either a L160 or L96, which i have one currently that is almost spotless, but the body is more greenish yellow, rather than having an orange-tinted fins like yours.

I do not have additional pics, especially from top view...Most of mine are in my breeding thread on spinosus.
You may consider getting them first and let see how it goes from there. Even if they are not a pair, their coloration still makes a wonderful and awesome fish to me.

Dragonball, both of them are male, by looking at the length of their pectoral and the size of their pelvic fins. The pectoral for females does not or just reached its pelvic fin, while male's tend to overshot the pelvic. This is how i identified my spinosus.

Hi Mat, the picture in the article is definitely a Male, a fat and well build Male.

Pseudacanthicus spinosus locality distribution in Cat-eLog
Hi,
I would like to highlight that the locality distribution of this species that is published is too general. Instead of being found in the Amazon itself, the more specific location would be from Cameta - Maraba, Rio Tocantin and also from Rio do Para (Portel) which also consist of Rio Anapu.

Updates @ Day 90
These fries have shown up some colour. Tails started to have a pale orange tint. From the start, i have always thinks that this batch should be from a L160 parents. In fact, these must be a L96 offspring.
Here are some pics on them:
