Ok..so I will seperate the two species n hopefully I will have enough of each to breed them..its my first time keeping hypancistrus.
I notice that 2 of the large spotted ones are spending a lot of time together in a cave..can I assume that this is a possible pair?

here are some more pics of the group together from the top..i fear that they are mixed...which was not what i wanted..the seller has some more..thinking of going back to get three more contradens if i have 2 already...then i can make up 2groups in th ehope of breeding them.

I was told that they were ancistrus lineolatus by previous owner..I have a pic of them in my other post where you replied with regard to the contradens..if possible,check it out and let me know..I am rather new to plecos so my apologies

Hi guys
I got a trio of adult (10cm +) ancistris lineolatus 1f 2m.
I can't find specific info on this species..does any1 have information on them and their water conditions? I am thinking of adding them to a container outdoors..here in Cape Town we have nice warm days..but the night temperatures ...

So are they all contradens?I notice a large difference in spot size with 3 largest ones compared to the remaining 4.I am concerned about mixing up species..please advise if the plecs in the two pics are the same species (ignore the ancistrus in pic)
