Re: Piraiba

And I would like to do the same in your area, around here there are not many good fish stores, I do have a LFS that does get in some rarer species sometimes, like right now they have a L25 plec, and some Scomb Aramatus. They also have a few RTCxTSN and TSNs right now, been thinking of picking up the ...

Re: Who has Red tailed x Tiger Shovelnose hybrids?

I am not worried about the growth rate, I am just shocked that in the beginning he was growning 1/4" a day, and then he slowed right now, and is getting more girthy than anything. Currently they are all in a 125 ("all" includes 1x RTC, the hybrid, and 2x Asian Upsidedown cats) all which are about 4 ...

Re: Piraiba

Thanks everyone for the quck and speedy replies. I seem to be out of my league with this fish...maybe somewheres down the road when I live in a warmer climate...but not right now. I would not want to risk my other fish becoming dinner. I have however talked to a man from another site who does nded ...

Re: Getting my RTCxTSN on pellets

Thanks for the information on yours, I also have a RTC living with mine, soon their pond will be finished and all will be well, hopefully I can get them on some form of stable pellet, just so I have something to fall back on.

Piraiba

I am debating on trying to find and pick up a Piraiba. I know people have them, but I want to get some research done before I jump the gun. So if those who have them could shed some light on their growth rates, eating habits, size ponds they are kept in? Any kind of really husbandry information ...

Who has Red tailed x Tiger Shovelnose hybrids?

I am wondering who all on this wonderful site have them, and maybe start a chat session about what works and doesn't with ours.

Thanks,

I do agree with Jurenese. However the store keeper should have it labeled as "False Tigrinus Catfish" not Shovelnose IMO.

Sevenyears of keeping fish and I am still plauged with inpatience. I'm sure it will be fine, I just worry. I prefer my fish on a good diet. I will try some thawed Tilapia also.

Getting my RTCxTSN on pellets

I really want to get him off live, and onto a solid base diet of cichlid gold and massivore pellets, however he is refusing to egknowledge that the pellets are food, what is the best way to get him to realize they are food and get him to eat them? Is fasting the best way?
