Hi there,
Yes I can agree, if can be really difficult buying stock, guess it comes down to trust in your local fish shop and the staff that run it.
After more than several unsuccessful (and not cheap) buying experiences I paid a visit to Pier Aquatics in Wigan (some 35+miles away from home, so not ...

Re: Banjo cats for 20 gallon.
Hi there,
I have a pair of whiptail banjo's. Amazing fish.
Whilst they do sometimes burrow in the sand, they also just sit on top of the sand in the shadey side of a rock or piece of bogwood.
If they are buried, the slightest bit of food always has them quickly scooting around and hoovering up

Hello there,
Thats great observation, makes you wonder what is attracting the juvenile L312 to the skin of the L128. And it seems they are not just trying to kind of graze the surface of the skin, but doing real damage.

Hi there,
I can't pin down the id, but I also got 4 of these great fish from Pier about 6 months ago.
Shy at first (I didn't see one of them for a month), but as they have settled and got bigger they get more used to being out.
Bit of bloodworm and they flash around.

Thanks for your input guys, much appreciated.
Water meter won't be an issue (at least not for the forseeable)as property still on flat water rates with no meter.
I was more interested in type of unit to buy, etc, which you have given me some great comments on

Hi All,
As our water supply has become more unpredictable in terms of pH, phosphate and nitrate content I am going to take the plunge and go down the route of getting a reverse osmosis unit.

Hello there,
I am really sorry to hear you are having so many problems with eheim on that side of the pond.
After contacting John Allen in the UK, I simply had to send the filter head to them and they sent a brand new replacement the same week, no fuss, no bother.

Re: Non toxic grey paint for background
Hi there,
Yes, possibly covering the yellow milliput may be an option.
I was wondering if using G4 Pond Sealer paint may be an option.
This comes in Grey, so could put a couple of coats over the yellow milliput.
This used to coat the inside of fish ponds, so should be safe
Any thoughts?

Hi there
From my understanding plecs that have the F1 notation before their name have been bred in captivity but from wild parents.
Wild caught plecs often have the (wc) attached to their name.
I think to be true F1 offspring both parents would need to be wild caught.
I think this is right
