Mod edit: This thread was posted as a "reply" to a 3 year old thread. I thought it made more sense to separate it out, as "waking" old threads doesn't make that much sense unless the subject is realy closely related to the WHOLE thread.

The original post was talking about some eggs turning white after a day or more.

Hi,
Why the eggs become white? My BN eats many of them because they become white ... why the eggs turn white? what can I do to prevent this?

normally eggs turning white are unfertisised, or dying. One can hardly do anything about fertilizing, and only rrarely about dying eggs - the cause can be genetic or environmentally. Only in the latter case can dying be prevented

The eating of dead eggs will prevent funges from attacking healthy neighboring eggs, and should thus not be prevented

Thank you for your answer. I have a new question: What can I do to improve the environment conditions? which are the perfect conditions?
