sorry for a little spamming but I just have to say it.

Fish from genus Pseudecheneis are the most beautiful creatures in the world! Darn I'm in love.

Silurus maybe you have some photos of habitat they live in? Probably a rocky, fast stream? Are they exportet to european countries?

I don't think these fish would ever be exported as aquarium fish, though. They require very cool temperatures in transit and holding.

Too bad they are so demanding. I guess temperature during transport is the issue since for exampe Ambystoma mexicanum needs low temperatures all year and people menage to keep them happy .

I am not certain this species is especially delicate (more than

Chaetostoma

for example (although it strikes me of being a bit more like

Astroblepus

)) but I entirely agree that it would not survive current export routes from river to tank. Perhaps we might dream of seeing the newer Chinese species appear. For now, the only way of seeing these fish involves buying a plane ticket.

The trick to keeping these fish alive is temperature, temperature, temperature. I had a P. sulcata that survived overnight in a small photo tank without any aeration or water change. The fact that the hotel room was unheated was a major factor.

Hi Worton,your taste in Cats is great , [not to sure about the Sabbath lyric's though ] i must agree these are wonderful looking i'd have thought they would be ok in an unheated tank with lots of flow,i.e. a river tank as used by the people over on Loaches online has anyone here kept these fishes

River tank invented by Martin Thoene would be probably the best way to keep this fish. However as said - they won't survive trip from river to an european tank

I hope to find Akysis one day in my LFS and then set up a river tank for them

Hi Worton , we get quite a few of the Akysis sp/s , i must say i have'nt tried them yet , but am very tempted , hope you manage to find some
