Electric catfish

Post by deuce bigalow »

I just bought an electric cat fish. Would it be okay with my other fishes if I put a glass devider on my tank and put him on the other side? Will it risk the other tank mates? It still has a small gap on the side of the devider

The distance the electric shocks travel depends on the conductivity of your water, so it's not really easy to say if it's OK.
What's the size of your tank?

Tank's a little small. I suppose it also depends on how hard your water is. The harder the water, the greater the conductivity, and the greater the shock effect.
The bottom line is, I would not risk the rest of your fish that way. The electric cat (and your other fishes) are better off in separate tanks.
