Network Catfish - Synodontis aterrimus

Post by sal »

Can anyone tell me anything about this fish. When we originally bought one we were told by the LFS that they do better in pairs and indeed he hid in the driftwood in our tank, hardly ever coming out. So we thought we'd by him a friend. At first the two fish had an agressive fight but then they seemed to calm down. They have been out a bit more but now they are both hiding in the driftwood. Just want to make sure they are OK? :?:

You more likely have S. eupterus and the hiding behavior is normal.

Try feeding them with some frozen bloodworms that should get them out.
As for the fighting its not as bad as it looks, I have 5 young S.Eupterus and they do this quite a lot but never any damage to each other.
