Where to get started

Post by LeeRoy »

I would like to maintain loricariidae, not sure of the one yet. What I would like to know is there anyone with stocks that is pure enough to get a start from.

Thanks for any info.

LeeRoy,

Wow, that's quite a question. There are literally hundreds to chose from. What do you want to do, keep a group? What size of tank? What price range? Give us some clues and I am sure we will be able to come back with some suggestions.

You need to work out what you want to start with before finding out where (if at all) you can get them.

The post was so vague was to see if there was any useage.

I have a 48"L X 12"W X 14"H about 40gal.U S I believe.
It would be keep as a species tank with only one type of pleco.
I would Keep some other fish in it also, not pleco's.

Just a quick look at the L list, something like L046, L049, L066.
I like that looks.

The price would depend on the fish and pedigree. If it is just a type fish not as much as a assurance of linage. Not being up on prices, where I live you can not compair with the rest of the hobby.

By your reply and reading the other topics in this subfourm, I take it that there has not been anyone willing to say that their fish is a true representative of a given species.

If and when you have someone wanting to particpate in this, let me know.

LeeRoy,

I don't really understand what you mean - can you expand? I very much doubt you will get much of a response otherwise.

Cheers,

What I am saying is, if anyone has some fish for sale that they will be willing to sell through this program, thus saying that they are a true species of said L number that I would consider buying them.

Leeroy, have you tried looking through the 'for sale' section? maybe someone has advertised the kind of fish you are looking for.
