Black Lancer price
Hi,
In my LFS they have now in a fully grown (around 35cm TL), probably female . No price is up on the tank as of yet, what sort of price do you reckon she's worth? Thanks,
Harry

Re: Black Lancer price
I have no idea but would like to know as well. Hopefully more than 1-2 people will give us a sense of what they are going for around the world.
somewhat related thread - maybe Mats, Barby, and Co will chime in.

Re: Black Lancer price
At the LFS we used to work at something that big would have been a trade in and we wouldn't have put much in it. We'd probably give the customer $25-$30 and sell it for $60-$75. Now if they purchased it that big from an importer or something then the price would run much higher.

Re: Black Lancer price
For a big one you probably will be talking over £50 bearing in-mind i paid £30 for a baby one 5 years ago.
Maidenhead in cambridge, oxford and guildford are listed as having them in stock so i would price check as prices seem to vary wildly between these chain stores..

Re: Black Lancer price
The 6" or so fish I bought from MA @ Oxford (Wheatley) were listed at £25 each or £48 for two [from memory - I'm sure I'm not far off].

Re: Black Lancer price
Thanks everyone - I should expect then that this fish is likely to go up at around £50 there or thereabouts. I will let you know of any updates.

Re: Black Lancer price
I went back in today, and am not 100% sure its a Lancer - maybe some kind of Syno. By the sounds of things they're contemplating £85 (if it is a Black Lancer), but theres been a lot of interest so not sure if that figure will rise. Does that sound a reasonable price? Anyhow, heres the pics (i cant seem to upload them, but here are the links - told that the image size could not be determined?):

Re: Black Lancer price
I do not think it is lancer; looks way too much like the very common in the trade asian upside down catfish or Mystus leucophasis...
If it a one-footer TL, it'd probably go for 30-50$ in NE USA.

Re: Black Lancer price
Agree with above that is no black lancer, def Mystus leucophasis... wouldnt pay more than about 15 quid for it as they come in to lfs small and dont sell very well
