Is My Corydoras Sp. 043?

Post by bunthid tumnontigoon »

Hello! Again Everyone :-!

I got a small group of these Corydoras from my local fish store a month ago. They are from BRAZIL, but I do not really EXACTLY know what part. When I first saw them, they look something different than other Corydoras I have seen. I kept focus on them for almost half hour to watched them swam around the tank, but I could not figure out what EXACTLY species they are. They look like Corydoras Brevirostris, but I think they are not because of the black sharp on the top is different and they come from different location as well. They also look like Corydoras Schwartzi, but the black sharp on the top is also different and the spots on their bodies also different. In my opinion, I think they might be Corydoras Sp. 043 or something else, but I am NOT really sure. :-\ Could someone really help me out? It will be greatly appreciated very much, so I will know what Corydoras I have. Thank you very much again and I also post some photos of them as well. @-)

No C43 (black eyesstripe is too long) and less spots on its snout. Think it's a C.Leucomelas

Hello! Again Everyone :-!

Thank you very much Atmichaels and CoryfanAad for your answers. I appreciated that very much. ^:)^

For Atmichaels' s opinion, I somewhat agree with you, but NOT 100% sure because most of my Corydoras do not have much spots on the face too much as on original photo does even though both of them are from BRAZIL. :-!

For CoryfanAad' s opinion, I do not agree because my Corydoras from BRAZIL, but Corydoras Leucomelas from COLUMBIA, ECUDOR, and PERU. And, also the black sharp on the top of their bodies are different if you focus on them, but I know the spots on its snout is too less, so I am NOT sure, but I think it is NOT Corydoras Leucomelas :-!

Thank you again for both of you. I really appreciated very much and I will wait for more suggestions from others. :-! I will post more photos as well. @-)

Different sources tell Leucomelas is also found in Brazil (as well Colombia, Bolivia, Peru). There is no other to my knowledge that comes so close looking at spotting, bodyshape, black in back and dorsal fin and striping of it's tail. There are some looking alike (Brevirostrus) , but they always miss one of these.

These could be C151 from the Rio Tapajos, Brazil. Unless you know the actual catching location it is very difficult to be certain, saying they came from Brazil is not really any help at all, it is a very large country. I don't think they are C43 because the head shape is not right.

Hi,

certainly no C. leucomelas, I would also exclude C 43 and C 62.
I would also go with C 151, but as Ian says... without catching location...

Cheers,

Thank you very much CoryfanAad, Mr. Ian, Kamas88, and Cinnamonsticks for all of your answers. I really appreciated that very much. ^:)^ especially Mr. Ian who REALLY help me out for the correct answer that I REALLY need even though it is NOT 100%, but at least I know 85% my Corydoras that I have is. I did check some photos of Corydoras Sp. C151 on the web that you did post, Mr. Ian, my Corydoras look the same as your photos even though NOT 100% look like, but very closed especially the black sharp on their dorsal fins go straight up the same as yours. I really appreciated that very much indeed. ^:)^ and also Kamas88. I will take good care of them as possible as I can. :-!

I know Mr. Ian and Kamas88. It is much better if I know exactly the specific location, but you know that 70% of the most of the fish distributors whom I got all the WILD Corydoras from, they do not know actual catching location. That is so sad for me as well. They know ONLY what country of all the WILD Corydoras ship from. ONLY 15% who REALLY take good care of their customers will know and try to find out exactly the specific location for me :-! and also another 10% does not know anything at all. :-p This one is NOT good ONLY want money from me. :-p

Thank you so much again for all of you. It REALLY help me lots. I really appreciated that very much. :YMHUG: I will take good care of them. :-!
