Who is this Deckeri, a cory from Columbia?
Two years ago, I got some Corydoras, I have not yet included them into my fishlist, as I do not know exactly their species name.
They were labelled Corydoras Deckeri or Slant bar cory.
On the same list from Colombia, there was Corydoras axelrodi and Corydoras loxozonus .
Obviously the one I got, do not look like (Deckeri Cory) nor (sometime sold under Corydoras "decker").
They pretty much look like .
But why giving two differents names for the same species and on the same list?
Is it really the same fish from two differents fishermen/rivers, or two differents fishes species looking similar?
Do you have some lights on this?
Here are some pictures of the Corydoras deckeri: Thanks for your help,

Re: Who is this Deckeri, a cory from Columbia?
Hi,
Corydoras "deckeri" is a trade name which is used for several corys from Colombia including C. loxozonus.
Therefore this name is unappropriate to denominate corys.
Corydoras loxozonus is a very variable species in terms of pattern, it has thus received three C numbers (C 79, C82, C83).
Your form is most similar to C 82 which (according to the presentation in the DATZ) sometimes shows this typical pattern of C. loxozonus with the slant bar. Other forms of C. loxozonus don't have this bar or only partially.
Cheers,

Also the species called "Deckeri" is known under the C-code C003 and is closely related to C. axeldodi and CW021.

Re: Who is this Deckeri, a cory from Columbia?
Well, I ordered some deckeri and instead of getting a strange no band axelrodi, I received what looks like a nicely banded loxozonus.
So I posted some pictures of them here to confirm their identification.
Thanks to all for your help.
