Please help me ID these plecos. Had them now for almost 2 years, almost gave them away a few times, but glad I didn't. They are looking better and better with age, one of my faves now. I love the pattern on the head, makes me think of Batman a bit. But I really wish I knew what they are. I've looked through all the Peckoltia images, but can't find anything with this head pattern. Unfortunately I have no information on collection location. If you have any ideas, please help. Thank you!
2 years ago they looked like this:
Now they look like this:

Re: Plecos getting better with age (but still unidentified)
The lower jaw teeth don't look like to me, so I agree they may be Peckoltia, but which one?
Obvious point is this: These fish are striped on the head, not spotted. That narrows the options down and eliminates .
The striped pattern reminds me of something in the group, but beyond that I'm uncertain.
Good luck with them. Im glad you like them!
Cheers, Eric

They look very similar to my . Pattern varies a lot from one to the other and changes with age.
Take care,

@bekateen @stuby thanks a lot for the help! If I am going to call them something, what is the proper convention since I'm not 100% sure what they are? Should I call them cf. vittata? or cf. 211?
