 has size listed as 1.4" SL.

3.6cm is the official max SL according to FishBase.

From Seegars 'Catfish Of Africa'. "The figure of around 4.5cm (36mm SL) given as the total length of these fishes by Howes (1980: 165) and subsequently repeated everywhere (e.g. by Paugy & Roberts in Leveque etal 1992: 515) is not the maximum length, and in the aquarium these catfishes can attain almost 10cm (see also Sands, 1984).

I can attest that all of my 12
Mochokiella paynei
are well above 36mm SL, probably 40-55mm SL, possibly more.

If it helps I can take pictures with a ruler next to them?

Trying to get pics yesterday is what prompted me to look up size. Here is one of my group of seven.
