unknown ?Heptapteridae?
Hi All,
I've just received these catfishes. They are very small: 23 mm and less. From Peru - no exact locality. I would appreciate any guesses on family, genus, species.
Thanks ahead,
DM
P.S. Pics are not great but that's all I was able to get so far.

All,
I know this, I've seen it before and I cannot for the life of me find it. The two-tone brown colouration of the image second from bottom is a close match for what is in my mind. I thought we had it one the site (as ), but notso. I must have seen it in a book - will keep searching...

Huge thanks Jools and Silurus!
Jools, you may use images for this species. They are not perfect but at least something. I think I did a better one for that blackish specimen (last in row). Will send.

Wouldn't it be nice to go to the shop for half a dozen? They would fit in almost any community tank

Re: unknown ?Heptapteridae?
I would set something up just for them if I came across them. Gorgeous little fish. I collected the Rio Napo back in 1999 but never saw this sp.
