The last of my pleco purchases arrived today...it was listed as a L-17.
As soon as I acclimated him, I hopped on here and checked the pics of the L-17 again for comparison.
My boyfriend and I are 99.999% sure that he's a L-67 instead. He looks exactly like the pics of a L-67.
I don't have any great pics of him right now, sorry.
I've read all the posts I could find about both L-17 and L-67's, but I still have a few questions.
Just making absolutely sure that the L-67 cannot make hybrids with my Mango, right
As far as diet and water parameters go, would they be the same for these two (L-47 and L-67)?
Was just flipping through the latest Aqualog on "L numbers" and they claim that L17 and L67 are the same fish.. Both collected in the same river and at the same place. The only difference being the colour intensity on the dorsal and caudal tips. Apparently this colour can vary from white to almost orange. Looks like you scored a well coloured one
Alan.
When life gives you lemons ask for a bottle of tequila & salt.
The only danger I find in life is to take too many precautions, some people walk in the rain, others just get wet.
My guy is about 4 1/2 inches total length.
He looks just like the sub-adult pics of the ones in the Cat-eLog...Pseudancistrus sp. (L067).
He's not been shy at all either, probably wondering why we keep staring at him and going back and forth from the computer to the tank.
Do they get snout odontodes when they are adults/mature?
