Cryptic Catfish: Revisited

Post by straitjacketstar »

Stumbled upon several of these at an LFS. Nothing about them. The guy didn't even have them labelled as catfish their tank just had 4.99 scribbled on it.They're only about 1.5" TL. I figured it was some type of moth catfish and bought them before they all died off. Looking trough the profiles I can't seem to narrow one down. I'm very unfamiliar to these types of cats.
I'll also try to get a better picture, for now this is the best I can do - still at the LFS tank. The ones here at home are horrible since they blend in so well with their substrate.

I got 4 more (one of which died a few days later) so I am now at a total of 7.

Thank you for your repy Silurus.
Is there anything specific you can tell me about these tiny cats? What they eat in the wild, what water they come from? What would one call them? Hara cf. maesotensis?
