Hi,
my Brochis splenden is not eating.  :(
1. Water parameters
a) Temperature range. - 26-27degC
b) pH. - 7
c) GH. - unknown
d) KH - 4dkH
e)Ammonia - 0, Nitrate - 20ppm, Nitrite - 0
f) Water change frequency - 25% weekly

2. Tank set up
a) Size. - 24" X 12" x 14"(height)
b) Substrate. - dennerle quartz gravel
c) Filtration. - eheim 2222 with sponge filter
d) Furnishings. - a Nana plant attached to driftwood + java moss tie to driftwood
e) Other tank mates. - 5 C.aeneus , 3 C.sodalis
f) How long has it been set-up? - 2 years ++

3. Symptoms / Problem description
My new 2inches B.splenden is
- Not eating. Doesn't react much to food. (Hikari corydoras pellet, frozen bloodworm)
- Its color appears a bit darker than other B.splenden.
- Not responsive.
- No sunken eyes or belly

4. Action taken - None
5. Medications used - None
Is it internal parasite? :?:
Question: What medication is good for this situation? Will melafix, pimafix or jungle parasite clear help with internal parasite?

Please advise. :)
Thanks in advance!

I wouldnt medicate him unless u know he has an issue. Can we see a pic? What temp Fahrenheit is his tank? does he have a big belly? Like he is constipated? Did you try fasting him and them giving him bits if a cooked shelled pea? Just a wee amount cooked and shelled and mushed.

i wouldn't use melafix or pimafix on a betta, unless u really dilute it, it has some odd effect on their labarynth organ sometimes.

I feed my betta adults once a day. Make sure not to over feed, their stomachs are as big as their eyes.

A pic would help. Is he swimming and flaring normally?

Hi,
I am referring to Brochis splenden. Not Betta splenden :) Sorry for any confusion caused.

Water temperature is around 78 Fahrenheit

A very simple solution may be that it is a single specimen (at least, that's how I read it). Brochis - like Corys - are shoalers and may literally pine away when kept single.

dude i thought you were talking about a betta!! My error.

I agree tho, my cories like to be with lots of their own kind. And mine like cool water, 74 degrees.
