QUESTION About New Corydoras !!!

Post by Callichthyidae »

Hello! Everyone :)
I am back again. I still have some questions to ask everyone who can definitely help me out of my brain. I try to check everywhere, but it still doesn't work out because I am not really sure, so Please! help if you can.
I've been to my LFS in my town where I live now, and I've seen one Corydoras species that look something different from the one I've always seen. It might be so common for someone who are an expert of Corydoradinae family, but I am just a beginner of Corydoradinae family, and I am still learning about them. Can someone help? It will be greatly appreciated.
It calls CORYDORAS BLOCHIS BLOCHIS. I don't really know this name is a new name of this species or not because I have never seen this name before. If it is a new species for the Corydoradinae family, what C number it used to be. If it is old species, why it doesn't list on the Corydoradinae family. It looks like Corydoras Gomezi, Corydoras Leopardus, and Corydoras C102, but it is not exactly look like them, so it is still stuck on my brain, and I really want someone who really know about this species or an expert of Corydoradinae family to help me out. It will be really greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. :?

Best Regards;

Probably an attempt to identify the fish as , but from your description, most likely misidentified.

Hello. There are a few sellers in the U.S. using this name. The fish they are selling under that name are C102's. Hope this helps. - Frank

Thank you very much, Silurus, but it is not exactly Corydoras blochi. I already check it many time. It doesn't look like exactly Corydoras blochi for sure.
Thank you very much again.

Thank you very much as well, Coryologist. :)
The photo that you post in here is look almost as same as the one that I have, but the one that I have has all the black lines on its nose instead of all the black spots, but I am not really sure. I will take some photos of them, and will post in here to show everyone as soon as possible. :)
So, Coryologist, you mean CORYDORAS BLOCHIS BLOCHIS is exactly CORYDORAS C102, is that correct? The sellers use the name of BLOCHIS BLOCHIS because of their business, is that right? Thank you very much. It is very helpful. :D I is greatly appreciated very much.

My pleasure. :-)

As is usually the case, they are extremely variable in their pattern.
So, Coryologist, you mean CORYDORAS BLOCHIS BLOCHIS is exactly CORYDORAS C102, is that correct?
No. I am saying that in this particular instance, these particular sellers are currently selling C102's by that name. Can't say much beyond that.
The sellers use the name of BLOCHIS BLOCHIS because of their business, is that right?
That - and a lack of knowledge.

Thank you very much Mr. Dave Rinaldo :)
I think I know you. I used to meet you at someone's house before for meeting, but I am not sure.
Thank you very much again for helping me out. It is really greatly helpful. I think as well as everyone I think my New Corydoras is CORYDORAS C102. Thank you very much again. I hope we can meet each other and talk about catfish. I really love all Callichthyidae family with some interesting catfish such as Doradidae family and some woodcat family, but I am still a biginner of catfish. I think you might be much better than me. You might be an expert of catfish. I might need your help soon. Thank you very much again. :)
Oh! I am looking for some catfish you might can help me. We can talk again soon. Thank you very much again, MR. Dave. Talk to you later. Bye. :)
