Synodontis Multipunctatus Bowl Breeding?

Post by FunkyFredFrog »

Ive seen some Synodontis Petricola breeding on Youtube in a bowl with a plant pot over the top.

Can multipunctatus be bred the same way or will they only breed with spawning Cichlids?

The video on youtube is a breeding account of synodontis Lucipinnis (not actually Petricola).

Although multipunctata are reported to scatter without a cuckoo host it is the best way forward to ensurea spawning happens

Lou: It's still a three-way!

I too have seen the video and I do not think that the fish is SynodontisPetricola but SynodontisLucipinnis. But it is very likely that both of their spawning are to be mistaken since they almost spawn the same way except for the scatter that multipunctuatua makes.

I'm not sure i read this correctly but multi and grandiops use the cuckoo method with a mouthbrooding cichlid. Petricola and Lucipinnis are scatterers and Lucipinnis use the cave/flowerpot method in captivity
