SNAIL Owners BEWARe there is a new monster on Halloween!!!

Post by victoriaz24 »

I have been trying to figure out what has been happening to my red ramshorn snails in my tank. I know that loaches eat them, so I moved the loaches to another tank. Then this morning I found another group of snail shells with no one home, then I found this monster sucking the snails out of their shells!!!

The large female was have a buffet of snails. I have never heard of any Syno eating snails or caught them in the act.

Snails and shrimps are staples for some of the synos of Lake Tanganyika.

For my grandiops they like nothing better than a whole shrimp thrown in the tank and seem to happily chase each other around for it.

I throw all of the large red ramshorn snails that I find in other tanks into the aquarium that I keep my grandiops in, and it is littered with empty red ramshorn snail shells. I'm just waiting for the price of ramshorn snail shells to go for a meteoric rise on the commoditities market and then I'll retire with the bonanza! 8-}
