C. aeneus
I have a sizeable school of C. aeneus and there have been several random spawns in the 2 years or so that I have kept them. They spawned yesterday about 24hrs after a water change and forgetting to plug the heater back in. The 55g (220l, 122cm x 31cm x 53cm) they inhabit is home to a swordtail trio, 2 kribs, 3 juvenile BNPs and assassin snails. The eggs were laid on the glass in 4-5 locations and on one crypt leaf. I have already removed the male krib as he was attacking the female and will be removing the rest of the non-cory tank mates to retry.

I checked the cory eggs before the lights came on this morning using a flashlight. There are live eggs on the front pane and I was able to see the embryo moving.

Re: C. aeneus
After reading a number of breeding reports I used a razor blade and removed what eggs I could find and placed them in the net breeder.

Eggs hatched sometime during the night. If I watch very closely I can see some movement but they are tiny and clear.

What do you have ready for first foods? I feed wetted dusty food (finely crumbled dry food) or microworms.

Re: C. aeneus
I have the fine dust leftovers from different containers of food that I have saved, coral food and hikari first bites. I'm not totally sure but I think I moved 6 fry from the basket to the box. Added some susswassertang from the 220g.bekateen wrote: 19 Nov 2021, 15:48 What do you have ready for first foods? I feed wetted dusty food (finely crumbled dry food) or microworms.
