Syno availability

Post by Tom »

Does anyone know of a good source for the rarer non-Tanganyikan synos in the USA? I know of a source in Ohio but they're hooked up with a Czech breeder so I have no faith in their IDs.

Thanks,
Tom

The Armke's are one source. High prices and sensational IDs are common. For example, [url=http://www.ohiexchange.com/armke/images ... y_blue.jpg]Synodontis sp. â??Sky Blueâ?

I'm familiar with Armke's. I've corresponded with them by phone and e-mail. I tend to question some of their IDs, For example they had Nigerian robertsi a few years back. A website that sells fish AND used cars is, how shall I put it, interesting? You're in New York, there used to be a wholesaler in New Jersey who brought in alot of rare Synos.

Yes, Keith Pyontek and Aquaticus. Nice guy, and a pity he left the business. Spoke to him on the phone a few months ago and asked if he had an intention of getting back into importing. He says he is looking into buying some property to start Aquaticus up again, which would be very nice.
