Albino Davidsandi

Post by stepchild »

I've been breeding Davidsandi cory for about 4 months and this is the second time I've found an albino baby. lost the first one but I'm wondering if anybody has seen anything like this? Thinking about trying to raise this one to adult size and see if I can get any more of them.
Thanks
Bill

Bill,

There are increasingly more and more albino cory forms turning up. I have breeding groups of both C. paleatus and C. sterbai, and have seen albino forms of C. nijsseni; C. panda and C. polystictus. I would be possible with a careful breeding program to reproduce your albino. As a point of interest I have several almost black fry of C sterbai which are getting close to breeding size.

Sorry to go off topic a little bit, but do the sterbai blacks have orange fins? Albino is a new one on me I must admit.

Jools.

Simple answer Yes. will try and get some good pictures when i get back from Norway. The fry are now about 20 mm sl and starting show the yellow orange. I have even heard of some fry from this strain showing yellow caudal fins when young, but as the get older the colour revert back to the normal dark banding.
