Hi Shane
Thanks for the info, I know the breeder (Ste Chester - sells a lot on ebay) said he got these in - wild caught - but with the knowledge you provided I can see why he might be mistaken.
The fish you provided could well be it, they are still pretty small so I will definitely be monitoring ...

Ancistrus Brevifilis?
Hi everyone.
When I put my Brevifilis onto the "my cats" log, it says I am the only keeper!
Surely not??
They were sold to me by a breeder here in the UK but would you guys say they are a different species?
Thanks for the help

The water only needs to be kept clean. The chemistry is not too important although avoid extremely hard water.
Temps between 75*F and 80*F seem to suit them well.
Provide plenty of Hornwort or Java Moss but do leave enough open swimming and bottom space: at least 50/50.

Re: How did I do?
Hi again guys, I am just continuing my research and trying to learn as much as possible.
Viewing the first fish again, classed as Corydoras agassizii - I to noticed the lack of pigmentation on the dorsal. Could these be Corydoras ambiacus to?
Could anyone else comment on the last photo I posted of ...

corydoras Ephippifer now. (Hope that worked)
It certainly did. It's not clever enough to format it correctly sadly! Corydoras (the genus) should be written with a capital and the species name not. Don't worry a lot of folks get that wrong.
Cheers,
Jools

My apologies. I will know for next time.
Thank you for the help, both of you. Why are cory so infuriatingly addictive!
I will go and research now. (Hope that worked)- Definitely not Melanistius then?

Ian, thank you for taking the time to post
If I was going to leave it as just dwarf cory species, would I need to divide the tank? As in couldnt I have all 3 roaming around the whole area?

Re: Permanent Dwarf cory breeding set up
Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated!!
As the tank is a little larger I was thinking about adding a couple of other small species to it, Dicrossus Filamentosis and Otocinclus spring to mind - does anyone see these as a problem.
Again thanks for the help
Lee

Permanent Dwarf cory breeding set up
Hi everyone,
I was hoping on a little advice. I have limited success in the past with breeding various cory types and I have never got my dwarf species to breed - hence wanting this to be my next project.
I have a spare 48x12x12 sitting around and was hoping to make a permanent breeding colony ...

Re: How did I do?
Hi,
most of the species are correctly labeled (including C. atropersonatus).
1) C. agassizii could something different, they usually have black colour in the dorsal.
18) is CW021.
21) I would also name this one C. ambiacus.
Cheers,
Hi Karsten - thanks for the help (To the others too!)
