I currently have in one tank...
6 C. Trilineatus (1 year + in tank)
4 C. Paleatus (5 months in tank)
1 CW023 (1 year in tank)
1 CW041 (4 months in tank)
The C. Trilineatus are only interested in each other. I did have some C. Aeneus that would follow the C. Trilineatus and eat their eggs. They ...

Re: C. trilineatus
Yes I have. Great information!
Both groups of parents reside in a planted 29. I collect the eggs and move them to a 2.5, no substrate, heater and air stone. After hatching, the newborns go to the 5.5 with sand, sponge filter, and a heater.
I plan on setting up a 30L soon and moving the fry from ...

Re: C. Trilineatus midget fry/retarded fry
I know the different species. The two C. trilineatus fry are different ages. The older fry (4.5 months old) is very small for his age. I was told by one of our club members that the fry may not grow and could be culled. If the fry does not grow, I will just keep it in my tank.

Someone from my club states that this fish is a CW041, because they come from the same area, and my fish could be stressed out a bit changing his appearance.

I had one fry live to be just shy of two weeks and the other two lived one day. They all passed at once. I've been advised to feed richer foods to the parents.
I am pretty bummed out, still. They passed on Sunday.

If I can tell them apart, I will name themMatsP wrote:This is exactly why most of my fish has no names. It's easy to come up with a name when you have one, two or three fish. Once you get to a dozen, it's not so easy, and when you have hundreds, they are not at all nameable.
