Just spotted a 3" L333 on sale for £199.
Have I got my species mixed up or is this a mental price?!!

Re: Syno Ornatipinnis?
Thought they were based on price of them. Would be a difficult call to tell the better one apart from the one I saw in a shop today. Either that or a pricy hybrid at £44!

Syno Ornatipinnis?
Had these lovely fish for about 4 years and bought them as 1-2" fish. They are now about 8-9".
The closest I have to them would be ornatipinnis and I have just seen one for sale in a local shop that looks identical but had a good chunky price tag.

Re: Dwarf Syno multipunctatus?
Strange, the guy is calling these golden eyes. Is that a generic name for multipuncs? He says they are originally from Rene Kruter in Holland if that helps?

Re: Dwarf Syno multipunctatus?
Def not those, these too gold with a multipunctatus spot coverage. Grandiops looks best bet still. Can't get photos now but can try next time I'm up. He gets them from Germany and could be just using a common name. He is a cichlid guy really and has some cats. Think he knows a bit as he has some ...

Re: Dwarf Syno multipunctatus?
Just been told the Latin name is S. Multipunctatus but are recognised as dwarf species. If it is a dwarf shouldn't it be classified taxanomically differently? Really like the fish but would much prefer to know what I'm buying? Am I being passed off hybrids? Anyone heard of this dwarf myltipunc?

Re: Dwarf Syno multipunctatus?
Looks very similar.
The guy has had young by accident from a brood via cuckoo spawning so looks like a good bet. He said they were so
Stints called golden eye Syno?
Looks like them anyway.
Thanks

Dwarf Syno multipunctatus?
Just saw some fish being sold as dwarf multipunctatus. Look identical from what I saw. Anyone got any info on them as they were cheaper than multis.
Def not Lucipinnis or polli. Nice fish but don't want to buy hybrids.

She has only been in with the male, a fire eel and some satanoperca. She was fine with all but the male was a bit of a bruiser. No bother with either.

L200 green phantom female 5"
Large (pushing 6") female. ID as female by myself and Wigan Aquatics where she was bought as part of pair. Male was a monster; pushed 7" but unfortunately lost him.
Super condition with good spot coverage - not one with few spots on head.
Looking for around £30
Other fish available too for free ...

Hey, got a lovely " pair" of these fish ( well m and f as best I and pier aquatics can tell!) and was wondering if anyone had had a go at breeding them. Any top tips gratefully accepted before I have a go!

It's fine, there are two 4' tanks waiting for them. Would rather have them in front room for now as they're pretty! Was difficult to move anything round when the wolf fish was around!

I was in dobbies in Milton Keynes on weekend. I like it there to a degree... They get the odd oddball in but most if all, they don't realise and mislabel it! Had a few cheeky buys from the so far!
They have a beautiful mbu puffer in, the best I've seen and at £80 for a 9" fish I'm tempted.

Unwanted in bucks? See me!
Hi,
I'm a school teacher in Buckingham with 4 tropical tanks, fully mature, established and ready for fish.
I love the cats but kids love anything!
I'm offering homes ( up to 4' fishtanks) for unwanted fish. Larger fish have character but there are limits!
No oscars, pactus, rtc's, pangas or your ...

African shovelnose?
Can anyone be more detailed about a "African shovelnose"? Saw one in lfs. Small, dark brown and black. Looked similar colours to a hara. Definitely had shovel shape face but isn't listed under shovelnose when I searched. Perhaps the juvenile changes colour when older? Any ideas? Thanks

How much are pseudacanthicus leopardus?
Any help on a recent UK price for these fish would be great. Looking to kit out the fishtank at school and have a good budget for "pretty" fish. See if the head likes these! I would probably be looking for a chunkier fish opposed to a juvenile (about 6") but any prices, along with where they were ...

I know that the synos are difficult and I suppose I was optomistic but they are nice fish anyway. I will keep them for a while and see how they do!
Anyone want to buy a scarlet plec by the way!

I think the false body shape is due to a camera angle. I have had to cut the image down in order for this site to accept it. Thanks a lot guys, if I were to put my money on it, it would be an ornatipinnis.

Hi there, hope someone could give me a clue as to this little cat. I bought it a while ago for a couple of quid as they were pretty cute. I knew they were synos but they have grown pretty quickly.
The closest I have is ornatipinnis but i know that these can be tricky with all the hybrids. Any help ...

Hi guys,
Can anyone shed any light on the availability of this species. I have heard that hte have banned exporting them. Are they going the way of the zebra plec and is it worth grabbing a few if you spot any in the shops? Cheers
