Re: S.Nigriventris and S.Contractus are unhappy, what can I do better?
Some great advice here especially about adding more cover rather than taking some away ! as for being able to see them as said you need well placed cover where they don't feel vulnerable but are visible to you, I've got a group of around 15 Aterrimus and a couple of Nigriventris and they are hiders ...

Re: Mystus tengara compatibility
I have a group of Mystus Tengara/Vittatus ?and they are in with some smallish Barbs ! the problem with White Clouds is they are quite slim whereas Barbs are deeper so I'd be a bit wary of that combination .
One thing I have found with the Tengara /Vittatus ? is they aren't too aggressive which is ...

This is a nice fish ! though i'd say P.Siamensis is at least seven maybe eight inches standard length, they are quite variable too , some are very colourful and remain so as adults wheras some appear quite dull !

Just to clarify, the Barb with the black edge running along the outer edge of its caudal is slightly obscured by another barb with reddish fins ! I've kept Barbs for years and for some reason i cant put a name to it ,Birger i can understand your guess at a Tinfoil , but i've never seen one with a ...

Hi Kev, i keep a lot of Loaches [Botias] as well as a few Syno's , i like to decorate most of my tanks with Beech wood , i also put some flowering cherry in one tank , i was always under the impression that a lot of our trees were toxic ? no probs with the 2 mentioned , in my mind the beauty of ...

I always thought Robbianus had a look of Nigrita , but was more reddish in colour , as opposed to greyish brown , both nice fish really
going back to the fish pic on this thread , to me it looks very different to Nigrita i m o .

Re: Picked up some 2 inch long possible Synodontis nigrita?
Hi Birger , to be honest i'm not really sure , i suppose what i'm meaning is there could be half a dozen fishes under the Nigrita label , in other words a lot of different Syno sp/s being lumped under this name , some obviously very different to each other , i.e definitly cant all be Nigrita ...

I feel Synodontis Nigrita though supposedly one of the commoner Syno's is in reality not properly known ! i.e. there are so many pics of clearly different fish under the Nigrita label ! i feel i had this fish a while back , grew it on for a while and ended up giving it to Yorshire Pud ' er Yorkshire ...

Hi Fishy , Robertsi are one of the most sought after of the Syno's ,if you get the chance to get some act quickly as they wont hang around too long , as Yorkshire David said i have one , and yes mine is shy ! i'd ideally like to have a small group of these , i nearly got the chance recently as one ...

Hi Darkone , just been looking at the pics of Waterloti on cat-elog and the mask on the pic by M.Smith 4th one on the top looks different to the others pictured
is the mask method a 100% acurate
in fairness the M.Smith pic lookes closest to preserved specimen on the Koensis thread
