Should be absolutely fine in anything but the most flimsy american wood built houses.

If your tank is on a base with a flat bottom then you can spread the weight of the tank out very evenly, thus taking the weight off individual points (i.e. where the stand legs would be).

Just remember, most of ...

Is it best to breed Queen Arabesques in groups? I have 6 that I shall be setting up a larger tank for at some point so they can breed. Would a 30"x15" tank be big enough?

Some of you guys need to get out of the "thought police" role.

An Oscar would be fine in a 55G for quite a while before you would need to upgrade, a 3" fish isnt going to feel cramped.

Think some of you need to get a grip and not put anyone down who doesnt have tanks as massive as you want.

Olyra longicaudata

Another odd little catfish I got from work, found it hiding in one of the coldwater tanks so fished it out. Identified it as the Bannertail catfish - Olyra longicaudata.

They will be fine in there for now, not planning to breed them just yet. They have a huuuuuge eheim internal filter in there so the water will be clean thats for sure.

Queen Arabesques...

Got 6 of these guys from work last week. Appear to be doing very well in 15G tank with nice big eheim internal filter.

Hope to breed them at some point, i except its very similar to that of zebra plecs and other hypancistrus? Any tips welcome!

onto pics..

With things like festivums, angels etc. you should have no problems at all. Geophagus etc are fine aswell. Anything smaller than a Kribensis will probably get eaten once the Lima is fully grown

- They are asian catfish not african and this post should have been in the correct forum
- That fish is EXTREMELY thin! You need to feed it up alot, they need plenty every day..

It is much more likely to be fighting between tank mates. If you have other plecs they can sometimes inflict this kind of damage. I have seen it when introducing new plecs but within a week it is gone and they are getting along absolutely fine.
